Last month, Kings Harbor Multicare Center adopted an Army platoon, after the facility’s Therapeutic Recreation department and five residents, all of whom are veterans, collaborated in a fundraising effort. The fundraising effort, which included the residents/veterans manning tables to sell raffles and share stories of their experiences, resulted in the vets meeting their fundraising goal of $1,240, which will be sent to Adopt-A-Platoon, an organization that sends care packages to a military platoon overseas.
