Children from C.S. 55 took to the streets last Friday, June 19 in the first-ever Kids Care Child Safety Awareness Walk to raise awareness of child safety in the borough. Inspired by child advocate and abuse survivor Lauren Book and with support of the New York Yankees, supporters walked approximately one and a half miles from C.S. 55 to Yankee Stadium and plan to raise funds to help provide more than 100 care kits to Safe Horizon, the Bronx’s local children’s advocacy center.
