Herman Melville Bicentennial Celebration

The Woodlawn Cemetery hosted a Herman Melville Bicentennial Celebration on Thursday, August 1 in honor of the world-renowned author of ‘Moby Dick’ and other literary works and poems.

The program of Melville readings featured speaker Dr. John Bryant, former president of the Melville Society, founding editor of Leviathan: A Journal of Melville Studies and professor emeritus of English, Hofstra University.
