With record numbers of New Yorkers on unemployment, the Department of Labor system has been dramatically overloaded and many people are struggling to wait for their applications to process.

On Thursday, Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz will continue his weekly COVID Conversations series as he chats with an expert about quirks and tips of the unemployment system as well as rights that people have as a worker. He will be joined by Anne Nacinovich from the Economic Justice Unit of Bronx Legal Services.

People can submit any questions when they register online at bit.ly/COVID-BLS. People from outside the 81st District can tune in on Facebook Live, however questions submitted on Facebook may not be answered.

This will be in addition to a special edition of COVID Conversations, which will feature Congressman Eliot Engel to discuss the multi-trillion dollar federal disaster relief package. Contact Dinowitz’s office at 718-796-5345 or DinowiJ@nyassembly.gov for more information about that event.
