Councilman Ritchie Torres gave away 400 turkeys to constituents at Tremont United Methodist Church on Monday, November 23. The event, done in partnership with 12 local elementary and high schools, was attended by over 100 families who don’t have the financial means to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The event highlighted the food insecurity that many Bronxites face, according to Torres office.
