Halloween Movie at Poe Park Visitor Center: 2640 Grand Concourse

Oct. 21, 4-7 p.m.

Poe Park Visitor Center is hosting a mystery movie for the demographic of children. You can bring blankets to sit on the floor for the most mellow and comfortable experience.

Pawlloween: East 158th Street

Oct. 22, 12-3 p.m.

Yes, Pawlloween. Pawlloween is calling all dog lovers! Bring your canine friends to compete in the 6th annual dog-costume competition being held at Franz Sigel Park. Meet new dogs and, of course, humans and strive for the winning prize.

The event is open to all, but competitors need to acquire tickets for any available space. Prices range from $7.18-23.18, dependent on how much you desire to contribute to the prize pool.

Great Pumpkin Commonwealth Q&A: The New York Botanical Garden

Oct. 21-22, 1-2 p.m.

Take a moment at the garden to meet the growers of this year’s winning giant pumpkin. These absolute units will be displayed at the garden, with growers taking questions and demonstrating their carvings on the giant.

Spooky Garden Nights: The New York Botanical Garden

Oct. 21-28, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Dress up in your most harrowing costume and don’t miss the several events taking over the garden nights. Adam Bierton, a professional sculptor, will be demonstrating his prowess and creativity on giant pumpkins. Brought to you by local puppeteer, Lucrecia Novoa, experience the otherworldliness of seeing a parade of life-sized, life-like skeletons. Another live performance will be held by Hit the Lights! Theater: A Live Shadow Puppet Performance, with special attention in maintaining the vintage aesthetic, using classic overhead projectors, shadow puppetry and on-the-spot music to set the mood.

Williamsbridge Oval Haunted House: 3225 Reservoir Oval E. 

Oct. 27, 7-9 p.m.

With the month of terror, comes a haunted program. The Williamsbridge Oval curses their facilities into a haunted house. Recommended for 10 years or older, the event provides a safe way to have family fun and experience of night of ghouls, witches and ghosts.

Oct. 28, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Don your best costume and celebrate the month of terror before it ends. Anticipate a night of scary fun and mouthwatering candy. Reservations can be made here. These are especially important if a member of your family has an allergy to notify the coordinators.

Kid’s Halloween Party: 1300 Southern Blvd.

Oct. 28, 4-10 p.m.

Bring your children or siblings to Dreams to Reality’s first annual kid’s Halloween party. Food and beverages are included with tickets.

Early bird tickets start at $15 for children and $20 for adults.

Nightmare on Broadway: 6697 Broadway, NY 10471

Oct. 28, 6 p.m.

After taking the kids to their fix of horror, spend an endless night exclusively with adults at the Spanglish Bar & Restaurant for a terrifying party.

You must be 21 or older and you must wear a costume to enter, general admissions is $29.96.
