Bronx Meets East Africa At Poe Park

An opening reception for the Bronx Meets East Africa, an exhibit showcasing East African artists and their emerging relationships to the Bronx community, was held on Saturday, August 5 at Poe Park Visitor Center.

The event showcasing the similarities and differences of Ugandans’ daily life compared to that of an American displaced in the Bronx featured works by artists Alex Ahwera, Stephen Kitayimbwa, Washington Emilian Otim, Sharon Namulindwa, Joseph Senozi, Yiga Robert, Kiffe Yoweri, Ruth Nanyunja, Ocom Adonias, Abdul Oyay and Bruno Sserunkuma.
