Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. and Windows of Hip Hop co-hosted the annual 2018 Hip-Hop Element Awards on Tuesday, January 30 at Pier 132. This year’s distinguished honorees were Grammy Award-winner Swizz Beatz; hip-hop icons Big Daddy Kane and Doug E. Fresh and ‘Street Soldiers’ and FOX 5 news reporter and media personality Lisa Evers and The Hip-Hop Element Award Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Kool DJ Red Alert, legendary NYC DJ and groundbreaking radio personality.
