U.S. Rep. Jamaal Bowman is hosting a roundtable discussion with organizations receiving federal funds followed by a press conference announcing the funding this morning.

The roundtable discussion will bring together organizations from around District 16 so they can be connected and work together in the future. It’s at 10:30 a.m. today.

“It’s great to come together as a community in celebration of these much needed federal dollars,” said Bowman. “What’s as important, is for us to build collaborative networks that serve the needs of all constituents. We must work together to understand the needs of our neighbors and work together to meet those needs. This work can’t be done alone and the more we get to know each other, the more we are able to do transformational work.”

There are 15 organizations that will be receiving federal funding across New York City, Yonkers, New Rochelle, Mount Vernon, and Westchester County. Those in the Bronx include:

  • $2,001,503 to Bronx Community Health Network to create a new Bronx Community Health Network Community Health and Wellness Center in the Northeast Bronx;
  • $330,055 to the Emerald Isle Immigration Center in the Bronx to expand and renovate its community facility;
  • and $800,000 to Regional Aid for Interim Needs, Inc. to develop new wrap-around services for older adults at older adult centers in NYCHA developments and veterans community centers in the Northeast Bronx.
