The Bharati Foundation, a non-profit that operates through the Vishnu Mandir Hindu Temple in the Bronx, hosted its third annual Diverse Voices luncheon and networking event shortly after the celebration of Ramadan.

Held in partnership with SBH Health System and community collaborators, this event featured a panel discussion with Afrikana Founder Adama Bah, David Ahmed Coulibaly from the Bronx Borough President’s Office and Lorean Valentin from the Office of New York City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams’ Office.

Community members were also honored for their contributions to the New York City Muslim community. This year’s honorees were Mohammed N. Mujumder, LLM, JB Abdul-Majid and Moustapha Mbaye.

“For three years, we continue to team up with Victor Pichardo, VP of Community and Government Affairs at SBH, to host this event because inclusivity of the various Muslim communities and shared voices to address issues faced daily matters,” Bharati Foundation Founder and Diverse Voices Event Organizer Bharati Sukul Kemraj said.
The Bharati Foundation serves the community by providing food, books and other necessities to low-income residents. It also holds cultural events, such as for Hindu holidays.
