Serving his country aboard ‘Floating Airport at Sea’
U.S. Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Aaron Hopkins, who is from our borough, joined the U.S. Navy and is serving his country aboard the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan, which is part of the U.S. Navy’s 7th fleet based out of Japan and located in one of the world’s busiest maritime regions.
He is one of the people in the service that are responsible for patrolling the region.
According to the U.S. Navy, two years ago Hopkins was looking to find career opportunities and knew he wanted to travel.
A co-worker who was also joining the service asked him to consider giving it a try and he did, he said.
He said he was glad for the chance to start something fresh.
