The 45th Precinct Community Council saluted local leaders and police officers at its annual breakfast gala and awards ceremony on Wednesday, May 8 at Villa Barone Manor. This year’s honored civilians included the late Joseph Boiko, former 45th Precinct Community Council vice president; Louise Giacco, City Island Chamber of Commerce corresponding secretary; Sr. Seline Mary Flores, Providence Rest Nursing Home chief executive officer; Mouhammad Ali, Ali Baitul Maamur Jame Masjid Community Center faith leaders; Andrew Chirico, Waterbury-LaSalle Community Association vice president and Joyce Wilson, Co-op City Branch NAACP member-at-large. Captain Thomas Fraser, 45th Precinct commanding officer, formally recognized the 45th Precinct’s police officers Kyle Cummings, Jessica Griesinger, Garfield Reynolds and John Souhrada; sergeants Kevin Major and Christopher Tabing and retired detective second grade James ‘Jimmy’ McDonnell.
