45th Precinct Community Council breakfast planned for May 9th

The 45th Precinct Community Council is holding its first fellowship breakfast in at least two decades, honoring five outstanding individuals who have made contributions to the causes of law and order and community cohesion.

The 45th Precinct Community Council’s breakfast will take place on Wednesday, May 9 at 8:30 a.m. at Villa Barone Manor, located at 737 Throgs Neck Expressway.

Precinct Council president Bob Bieder said tickets for the breakfast are on sale for $15.

The honorees are: 45th Precinct Community Affairs Officer Anne Marie Morrison; Co-op City community leader Leonard Murrell; John Doyle, an aide to Senator Jeff Klein; Frances Maturo, executive director of Archdiocese of New York Drug Abuse Prevention Program; and Thomas Leahy, Chief of Investigations Division for Bronx District Attorney Robert Johnson.

Much of the legwork for organizing the breakfast is being done by Joe Boiko, the council’s vice president, and precinct council treasurer Michelle Sajous, with help from secretary Sonia Feliciano and sergeant-at-arms Yvonne Smith-Burrows, Bieder said.

Sponsorships from organizations, businesses and elected officials including Congressman Joseph Crowley, Senator Jeff Klein, Assemblyman Michael Benedetto, Metro Optics at 25 Westchester Square, Combined Oil at 1416 Williamsbridge Road, the Westchester Square Merchants Association, Con Edison, and David Lerner Associates, among others, are defraying the cost of tickets.

To purchase a ticket, contact Michelle Sajous at (718) 320-3300, ext. 3532.
