The Gardiner Foundation and Manhattan law firm Gersowitz Libo & Korek hosted the Gardiner Memorial Basketball Classic Tournament, one of the most elite, street basketball tournaments, featuring eight of the best schoolyard basketball teams from around the country. The tournament was created 13 years ago by Dexter Gardiner, after he lost six members of his family in a crash on the Bronx River Parkway. It’s run by The Gardiner Foundation, a nonprofit he created to provide educational scholarships, financial and emotional support, and burial assistance to families that have experienced similar unexpected tragic losses.
