Co-op City parent Sebastian Ulanga is no longer a candidate in the 12th Council District. Ulanga was on the ballot as of Friday, August 14 but announced that he would cut short his campaign.
“I will continue to do the work needed to make a difference for my community by advocating for affordable housing, education, jobs and universal healthcare,” Ulanga said.
12th Council District incumbent Larry Seabrook, retired Department of Corrections captain Jerome Rice and youth mentor Andy King remain. The Bronx Community College graduate will explain his decision to bow out at a press conference, he said.
Also on August 14, Edenwald Houses tenant association president Walter McNeil chose not to endorse a 12th Council District candidate. McNeil only asked that elected officials and aspiring elected officials visit the Edenwald Houses when there is no upcoming election.
