Birth announcement
The following birth announcement was received by the Bronx Times from White Plains Hospital:
Issac Levi Martinez was born to parents Sara and Bravlio Martinez of Soundview on Tuesday, May 23. He weighed six pounds and nine ounces.
Best All Around Student
Melissa Hernandez, whose family has strong business ties to the borough, received the Best All Around Student Award from Chowan University for the 2016-17 academic year at the school’s Annual Awards Day Convocation.
The Best All Around Student must be a graduating senior who has achieved academically, excelled in extra-curricular activities, exhibited leadership ability among his or her fellow students, and sought to attain the ideals for which the university stands.
