Councilman James Vacca and Community Board 10 did their part in helping homeowners and the environment by sponsoring a Department of Environmental Protection rain barrel giveaway last Saturday, April 9 at I.S. 192. Nearly 250 barrels were distributed to Throggs Neck homeowners as part of New York City’s Green Infrastructure Plan aiming to capture storm water before it enters the sewer system and to reduce combined sewer overflow into local waterways.
