Late night duo team up on Bronx Brewery’s ‘Bodega Boys’ lager

The two Bronx stars of late night television have a new project brewing — and it’s a lager.

Desus & Mero are teaming up with their hometown watering hole, the Bronx Brewery to put out a limited edition ‘Bodega Boys Beer’ on Friday, November 15.

The brewery, whose staff are self confessed mega-fans of Desus Nice and The Kid Mero say that the duo has showed plenty of Bronx love to the beer-makers in the past.

“We’ve been fans from the start, and we’re excited to brew a beer with them that captures the same no-frills approach that they’re famous for,” said Damian Brown, co-founder and president of the Bronx Brewery.

Desus even comes by the brewery from time to time, according to Kevin Scheitrum of the Bronx Brewery. Taking that even a step further, the late night show will be throwing a launch party in the brewery’s backyard and taproom to celebrate the new Bronx brew.

“They became heroes to the borough and New York City at large by bringing the Bronx to millions, with a sense of humor and style all their own,” Brown continued.

The Bronx Brewery, which is well known throughout the craft beer world for its iconic and artistic can designs, also collaborated with Desus and Mero to produce what some might call the most Bronx label ever printed. Those boys have been anything but strangers to their old home of the Bronx since striking national fame on ShowTime— they frequently come back to anything and everything going on socially in the borough, such as art gallery openings at The Compound next to the Third Avenue Bridge in Mott Haven.

The Bodega Boys Beer will be available only in the Bronx Brewery’s taproom when first released, so you’ll have to head into Port Morris to get this “easy-drinking and light-bodied lager with a refreshing, crisp flavor.”

While you’re at the Bronx Brewery, make sure to have some of Jason Alicea’s legendary Bronx empanadas from his popup stand, Empanology.
