The Women Marines Association NY-6 Corporal Ramona Valdez Chapter commemorated its centennial on Saturday, October 27 at the Samuel H. Young American Legion Post 620.

During the special occasion, the chapter paid homage to its namesake the late 20-year-old Corporal Valdez, a Dominican-born Bronx resident assigned to the Headquarters Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
