A coalition of parents, educators, church leaders, children and senior citizens attended the ‘Sound the Alarm: South Bronx Community in Crisis’ rally on Saturday, October 13 at East 149th Street and 3rd Avenue to denounce the neighborhood’s increasing open-air drug use epidemic. According to protesters, The Hub has been transformed into the ‘Hub of Heroin’ and the city appears unable to correct the crisis which has spread from East 145th Street to East 157th Street.

Exhibits A to C were garbage, cardboard boxes usually made into makeshift homes and syringes and caps collected into an orange juice bottle.
