The New York Botanical Garden hosted a media preview of its landmark exhibition ‘Georgia O’Keeffe: Visions of Hawai’i’ on Tuesday, May 15 offering a rare focus on O’Keeffe’s paintings created in the Hawaiian Islands while on commission in 1939. Twenty of the iconic artist’s depictions of Hawai’i on display in the LuEsther T. Mertz Library’s Art Gallery includes works reunited for the first time in New York since their 1940 debut. In the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, a lush flower show will evoke the gardens and landscapes which inspired O’Keeffe and showcased the Islands’ breathtaking flora. The exhibit is on display from Saturday, May 19 through Sunday, October 28.

Sculpture artist Mark Chai has his monumental Heliconia Loop sculpture and 12 hanging lanterns displayed around NYBG for the O’Keeffe exhibit.
