In honor of Women’s History Month, Healthfirst paid homage to several female leaders at its annual Women’s History Month Community Awards on Thursday, March 29 at Maestro’s Caterers. This year’s distinguished Women’s History Community honorees included Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke; Dr. Marcella Maxwell, Brooklyn College clinical supervisor of teaching fellows; NYPD Community Affairs chief Nilda Irizarry-Hofmann; FDNY deputy chief Tonya Boyd; Grammy Award-winning P.S. 48 music teacher Melissa Salguero; Jacqueline Contreras, Telemundo 47’s ‘The Jackie Show’ executive director; Lin Tan, Sinovision TV presenter, news anchor, producer chief anchor; Dr. Carmen M. Garcia-Albarran, Adolescent Medicine doctor of pediatrics; April Simpson, Queensbridge Houses Resident Association president and Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer.
