Bronx Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare resident Irene Wormley celebrated her 108th birthday on Friday, February 17 with her friends at family at 1010 Underhill Avenue. She was born in Port Deposit, MD, in 1909 and had three brothers, James Godfrey, Peter and Richard Hartshun. Her family moved to New York between 1920 and 1930 where she found work as a nanny. She married her sweetheart Archibald Wormley, but had no children. Her hobbies included traveling, cooking and attending Baptist church. Wormley’s surviving family includes two nephews and nieces residing in New Jersey.

A vibrant birthday cake was made to commemorate Wormley’s incredible milestone.
