3-Alarm Fire Displaces Wakefield Residents

A 3-alarm fire displaced several Wakefield families over the weekend. According to the FDNY, a fire broke out inside a sixth-floor apartment at 4769 White Plains Road on Sunday, November 5 around 4 p.m. and spread to four apartments in the building. Tenants were home when the fire began and were safely evacuated. The fire was extinguished within two hours. Three firefighters were treated for minor injuries. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation. The American Red Cross is providing temporary housing to the displaced tenants. Photo by Edwin Soto
