NYCFC, UAE Consulate General Host Soccer Fest

P.S. 49 students had a ball competing in five-on-five round-robin tournaments on their school’s blue mini-pitch.

NYC Football Club and the Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates in New York hosted a street soccer festival on Saturday, July 15 at P.S. 49.

Organized by City in the Community and sponsored by Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the festival was capped off by celebrity games from NYC including the NYPD, FDNY, NYC Parks and the Mayor’s Office.

Special guests included NYCFC head coach Patrick Vieira (back, c); NYCFC defender Alexander Callens (back, 4th from r); NYCFC midfielder John Stertzer (back, 2nd from l); Jordanian soccer freestyler Motaz Al Qawasmi (back, 3rd from l) and Tim Brodahegn (not pictured), captain of The Good Life FC Bowery Premier League team.
City in the Community’s team took home the gold.
