Police are on the hunt for a man who allegedly covered up a murder by setting an apartment on fire. According to police, Noel Farrow, 45, was found by firefighters on Wednesday, May 31 at 11:20 p.m. lying on his kitchen floor with a gunshot wound to the head inside his third floor apartment on 2235 Gleason Avenue. Farrow was pronounced dead on arrival by first responders. A NYPD spokesman confirmed that Farrow’s family was informed of his death which remains under investigation. Officials said the fire started inside Farrow’s apartment. Four firefighters suffered minor injuries while combating the blaze and were treated at Jacobi Medical Center.

Police have released a description of the gunman described as a black man with a beard who was last seen wearing a baseball cap, waist length jacket and blue jeans. The man was captured on a surveillance camera leaving the building around the time of the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
