Amir Sabri Darwish and Ali Sabri Darwish were born on Tuesday, April 4 to parents Jody and Sabri Darwish. The twins’ maternal grandparents reside in the borough.

Top Cookie Seller

Kamdyn Rouse, a girl scout from Riverdale, is being honored by the Girl Scouts of Greater New York for being the top seller of cookies in the borough for 2017.

Rouse sold 1,053 boxes of cookies. In total, 10,610 girls from New York City participated in this year’s sale, which marked the 100th anniversary of girl scouts selling cookies to raise money.

According to the Girl Scouts of Greater New York, she used networking to sell so many boxes, eclipsing her previous total of 800.

To sell a lot of boxes I network. That means communicating with people so that everybody knows your selling cookies. It’s hard work to reach your goal, but if you set your mind to it you can accomplish it, Rouse said.
