March was very busy month for the Bronx Charter Schools for Better Learning students.

On Thursday, March 9, Bryan Collier, winner of both the Coretta Scott King Award and the Ezra Jack Keats New Illustrator Award, visited kindergarters to read his award-winning awards, ‘Uptown’ and discussed how he goes through his creative process.

BBL students and parents attended the Boston Celtics versus Brooklyn Nets basketball game on Friday, March 17.

On Wednesday, March 29, BBL 1 second graders, teachers, assistants and parent chaperones embarked on a field trip to KumGangSan, a Korean restaurant in Flushing, Queens to practice what they’ve learned in their weekly Korean class.

BBL 2 also hosted a Parent-Staff Basketball Game to deepen the importance of relationships between family and staff with staff earning the victory.

The Bronx Charter School for Better Learning 2 Parent-Staff Basketball Game was a ‘slam dunk’.
