Mayor de Blasio Continues “One City” Pledge

Mayor de Blasio delivered his third State of the City address at Lehman College on the evening of Thursday, February 4, to a full house. The mayor referred to the speech as ‘The State of Our People,’ and continued his early campaign pledges of creating a more equal city for all New Yorkers. The mayor spoke highly of the NYPD, unaware that two officers were shot in the Bronx, a short distance away, as he was delivering his speech. The mayor quickly left the theater after his speech to visit the hospital where the two police officers were taken. Both officers are expected to make full recoveries.
