New Date For

The Car Show

The 16th Annual Orchard Beach Car Show will run on its rain date: Sunday, September 25 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The charity fund-raiser will have a Starsky and Hutch theme this year, with actors from the original 1970s series expected to attend and a group of Ford Torinos on display.

Sanctuary For Families New Clinical Director

Jelaine Altino will manage emergency and transitional shelter programs as well as oversee NYS’s largest domestic violence transitional shelter, Sarah Burke House in the borough.

Burke House is a transitional housing facility that provides care to women and children who are recovering for domestic violence.

Free School Supplies

The Provident Loan Society of New York is giving out free packages of school supplies through the end of September at all of their borough branches.

Supplies include a calculator, pen and pencil, eraser, ruler and pencil case. All parents have to do is walk into a branch, sign up for the mailing list and can receive their free back-to-school package.
