Groundswell, New York’s leading organization dedicated to community public art, Councilman Ritchie Torres, NYC Council Public Housing chairman and NYC Housing Authority unveiled the first two murals in a series of three at the Castle Hill Houses on Thursday, June 23 Made possible through the major one-year ‘Public Art/Public Housing’ initiative the first mural, ‘Stronger Together’ surrounds a community inside the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club Center depicting a message of intergenerational support and the importance of youth-driven change. The second mural, ‘Dreams and Aspirations’ located outside the 625 Castle Hill Avenue daycare center, inspires Castle Hill’s youth into thinking about their future.
