Villa Maria Academy students were victorious in a few recent academic competitions. The Academy’s 7th grade Math Olympians earned fourth place at the 27th Annual Iona Prep Math Olympics held on Saturday, May 7 which included ten schools in Westchester and two from the Bronx. Villa students were also well represented at the Academic Olympics at Mount St. Michael on Tuesday, May 10 in which sixth graders Joseph, Mohani, Briana and Alex earned first place. Seventh graders Samantha, Christopher, Anna, Aran, Lara, Sebastian, Amber, Nathaniel, Greta, Dillion, Julianna and Cade won third in a competition featuring religion, math, English Language Arts, social studies, science and computers. Fifth graders, Amanda, Marco, Steve and Jhonni participated in the spelling bee with Amanda making it all the way to round four.
