The Women’s Housing and Economic Development Corporation’s Bronx Music Heritage Center launched its annual ‘South Bronx Culture Trail: Lookin’ Up in the Boogie Down’ on Saturday, April 16.
It started with a rooftop performance by Bronx legends Bobby Sanabria and the Multiverse Band at 1301 Southern Boulevard, followed by a special screening of the 2011 film ‘The Girls in the Band’ detailing the journey of female jazz and big band musicians for the late 1930s to the present day and concluded with a musical performance by Stomp Society Swing Band at 1303 Louis Niné Boulevard.
