John Thomas MacKnight passed away on Tuesday, November 17. He was the husband of Loretta Ziano MacKnight, a community planner at Throggs Neck Community Action Partnership and recent leader of the Primavera Italian Language Program.

He was waked at Schuyler Hill Fnueral Home on Thursday, November 19 and laid to rest after a mass at St. Benedict’s Church in Throggs Neck on Friday, November 20.

Pre-Kwanazza Celebration

St. Martin De Porres League presents its Nguzo Saba (Seven Principles) Pre-Kwanzaa celebration of family, community and culture on Sunday, December 6.

The event takes place at the Immaculate Conception School Auditorium at 760 East Gun Hill Road.

At 2 p.m, there will be a Kwanzaa Bazaar with vendors and their crafts/ There will be a program at 3 p.m. with storyteller Jeani Miller and drummer Abishai, followed by Karamu, a feast.
