On Sunday, October 18, the American Cancer Society hosted the 13th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer at its Bronx walk at Orchard Beach. Over 10,000 attended including breast cancer survivors, their families, friends, hospitals, schools and caregivers. Just like the previous walks, the funds raised from the event will go to breast cancer research and patient service program that help Bronx individuals and families who are dealing with the serious disease. Elected officials who sponsored walking teams included Assemblyman Mark Gjonaj and Assemblyman Michael Benedetto.
