Fire Safety Day for Action hosted by FDNY, Red Cross

On Saturday, October 10, Bronx officials, FDNY and American Red Cross held a Fire Safety Day for Action. The event, which was attended by Senator Jose Serrano, Assemblywoman Latoya Joyner and Assemblywoman Vanessa Gibson, included the giveaway of free smoke detectors. Apointments were scheduled to have trained technicians install the smoke detectors. There were 451 serious fires in the Bronx in 2014 alone.
