The guest speaker at the Tuesday, September 2 meeting of the Rotary Club of the Bronx was Dr. Rolande Hodel, who spoke about her work in the African nation of Cameroon, where she spends three months out of every year working to get care and treatment to people with HIV and AIDS as part of AIDSfreeAFRICA.
The guest at the Thursday, September 9 meeting was Rhina Valentin. She is a well-know host on BronxNet, the borough’s public access cable stations. She was asked to attend the meeting so that she could be presented with a check for a children’s charity, Team for Kids. Team for Kids is a group of volunteers who raise funds for critical services provided by New York Road Runners. Their programs help combat childhood obesity and promote character development.
