School District 11 Host ‘Math Rocks’ Event

Over 900 girls from 40 Bronx schools in School District 11 were treated to a special viewing of the film, ‘Hidden Figures’ on Thursday, January 12 in celebration of a ‘Math Rocks’ event. Joining the girls at the Bay Plaza Movie Theater were Councilman Andy King; NYC Schools Chancellor Carmen Farina; District 11 superintendent Meisha-Ross Porter and Dr. Jeremy Kabinoff, Ed.D, principal leadership facilitator and District 11 deputy superintendent. Prior to the film, Councilman King presented Ross-Porter with the inaugural People Pay Attention to People Who Participate School Superintendent Award.
