-The following are crime reports and arrests filed by the NYPD’s police precincts in the Bronx.
40th Precinct
— On Thursday, Feb. 9, at approximately 10:39 p.m., a 34-year-old male was at the top of the stairwell entering the southbound Brook Avenue subway station, when an unknown male approached the victim from behind and kicked him down the stairs. The individual then fled on foot towards St. Ann’s Avenue. The victim was transported to Lincoln Hospital and treated for two fractured legs, a laceration to the back of his head and bruising to his face and hands.
The suspect is described as a male, 5’7” and approximately 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black North Face jacket, black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans and black sneakers.
43rd Precinct
— On Saturday, Feb. 11, at approximately 5 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of a male shot in front of 1556 White Plains Road. Upon arrival, officers observed a 27-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the head. EMS transported the victim to NYC Health & Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced deceased. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.
44th Precinct
— The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual in connection to an assault that occurred on Sunday, Jan. 1.
It was reported to police that at approximately 6:30 a.m., a 32-year-old male victim was inside of a McDonald’s located at 51 E. 161 St., when he observed two individuals in a dispute inside of the fast food franchise. The victim attempted to break the dispute up and in doing so, an uninvolved male approached the victim and punched him in the face. The individual that assaulted the victim fled the location in an unknown direction. EMS responded and transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition where he was treated for a fractured jaw.
The initial two individuals involved in the dispute are not being sought in regard. The only individual being sought is the individual that assaulted the victim.
— It was reported to police that on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at approximately 4 p.m., two groups of unidentified individuals discharged firearms multiple times at each other in front of 1305 Sheridan Ave., before fleeing in vehicles. There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.

45th Precinct
— On Wednesday, Feb. 1, at approximately 5:45 p.m., a 14-year-old female was walking in the vicinity of Lawton Avenue and Milton Place when an unknown male driving a large white box truck started approaching the victim. The male then exited the vehicle, making gestures and comments toward the girl, and attempted to lure her into the truck. The girl ran away, and the male fled in the truck in an unknown direction. There were no reported injuries as a result of this incident.
The individual is described as a male, and believed to be in his 30s. The vehicle is described as a large white box truck, with unknown lettering on the driver side door.
47th Precinct
— On Jan. 24, at approximately 12:11 a.m., an unknown individual was walking in the vicinity of 707 E. 211 St. when he displayed a firearm and shot multiple rounds at an unknown target. Multiple residences and a US Postal truck were in the immediate vicinity. No property damage or injuries have been reported.
The individual is described as a male with a dark complexion, approximately between the ages of 26-48. The individual was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a green jacket.
— The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals in connection to an attempted assault that occurred on Jan. 29.
It was reported to police that, at approximately 12:10 a.m., in front of E. 224 St. and White Plains Road, that an unknown individual discharged one round from a firearm into the victims’ motor vehicle while he was inside of it. The 25 year-old-victim incurred front passenger side damage to his vehicle, as a result of the gunfire. There were no injuries reported and two individuals fled the location southbound on Carpenter Avenue.
The male suspect is described as dark complexion, 18-27 years old and last seen wearing a black hoodie and black jacket.
The female suspect is described as dark complexion, 18-29 years old and last seen wearing a black jacket and brown boots.
— At approximately 10:51 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of a male shot at the rear of 4057 Pratt Ave. Upon arrival, officers observed a 21-year-old male, Nicholas Lewis, with a gunshot wound to his chest. EMS transported Lewis to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced dead.
There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing at this time.
48th Precinct
— On Monday, Feb. 13, at approximately 6:57 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of a male shot inside of 689 E. 187 St. Upon arrival, officers observed a 22-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. EMS transported the male to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing at this time.
The deceased has been identified as Miguel Vargas of Tiebout Avenue.
— A Feb. 10 shooting resulted in two fatalities, when police responded to a 911 call at 2:31 p.m. to find four people shot in front of 621 E. Tremont Ave.
Jeremiah Smith, 24, and Devren Smith, 37, both died as a result of injuries sustained in the shooting.
Jose Parilla, 32, was arrested and charged with murder, attempted murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
49th Precinct
— On Saturday, Feb 4, at 12 a.m., a group of six unidentified individuals pulled into a gas station in two stolen vehicles located at 1738 E. Gun Hill Road. One of the males then exited one of the vehicles, approached a 61-year-old male gas station attendant and took approximately $390 out of his hands after pumping gas into the vehicle. The individuals then fled in the vehicles.
The individuals are described as five males and one female, approximately 15-19 years of age.
