The seniors in Co-op City were very thankful for the initiatives of Councilman Andy King, Co-op City and City Meals on Wheels. The NYPD 45th Precinct also joined Councilman King in the meal distribution effort on April 19. Residents of Co-op City lined up early and waited on the trucks with boxes of foods to be placed on the tables. Each person was given three meals, in two bags of food and a total of 7,500 meals were given out. Five sections in Co-op City were covered by the food donations, so seniors did not have to leave their section to get needed food.
