Permits have been filed for the construction of a 4-story residential building with 11 units on the vacant lot at 293 E. 207th St. in the Norwood neighborhood of the Bronx.
The proposed building would be 38 feet tall and yield 6,628 square feet of space. With an average unit scope of 602 square feet, the 11 residential units will most likely be rentals.
Other planned features at the property include a cellar, a penthouse and a rear yard 29 feet long. Among the notable sites that the property is located within close proximity to are the Williamsbridge Oval, the Whalen Playground and the Museum of Bronx History at the Valentine-Varian House. Nearby schools include Success Academy Charter School – Norwood Elementary, P.S. 56 Norwood Heights, Bright Star Day Care at Rochambeau, Inc. and J.H.S. 80 The Moshulu Parkway.
There is nearby access to multiple forms of mass transportation. The Norwood subway station, which services the D train, is located within close proximity to 293 E. 207th St. There are also bus stops in the area for the Bx10, Bx16, Bx28, Bx34 and BxM4 lines.
The building applications were submitted by Egris Haxhari of H20 LLC. The architect of record is Fred Geremia Architects and Planners.
Since 293 E. 207th St. is currently just a vacant lot, demolition permits likely will not be necessary. An estimated completion date of the new building’s construction has not yet been provided.
