Orchard Beach Fireworks!

Senator Jeff Klein and Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. have spent the past few days finalizing details on what promises to be another spectacular fireworks extravaganza at Orchard Beach.

The event is on Friday, June 28 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and will feature a Promenade celebration, live music near the Orchard Beach Pavilion, and children’s entertainment, as well as a fireworks display around 9 p.m.

“I look forward to celebrating the Bronx each year with our annual fireworks event,” said Klein. “This celebration provides a great opportunity for people from across the Bronx to come together to salute our brave service men and women who have courageously protected our values of freedom and liberty, and the chance to enjoy food, music and the beauty of Orchard Beach.”

He added: “I look forward to ringing in the summer season with our Borough President, Ruben Diaz Jr., and Bronxites from all over the county this Friday.”

Borough President Diaz was as equally enthusiastic about the event, and extended an invitation to all Bronxites.

“Our Annual fireworks celebration is a wonderful event that unites thousands of Bronxites,” said Diaz. “During this borough tradition, Bronxites enjoy live music and food at one of the crown jewels of the Bronx, Orchard Beach. Most importantly, as we celebrate with our family and friends we also commemorate the sacrifice and dedication of the men and women of the U.S. Military who defend and preserve our freedom every day.”

This year’s fireworks celebration will be put on by Grucci, the same company that has provided fireworks celebrations at seven consecutive presidential inaugurations, as well as several Summer and Winter Olympic Games held in the United States.

The event is rain or shine. There is shuttle bus service available between Pelham Bay Park and Orchard Beach, according to organizers.
