Lehman Center announces 2023-24 season preview

Lehman Center for the Performing Arts proudly announces the preview lineup for the 2023-2024 season, which is continuing to bring legendary talent to the Bronx. To kick off the new season, audience members will be treated to concerts by exceptional talents.

TITO NIEVES & FRIENDS

Featuring: Daniela Darcourt, Kevin Ceballo and Rumberos del Callejon
Saturday, Oct. 21 at 8 p.m.

International salsa star Tito Nieves returns to Lehman Center for a night of hits such as “Fabricando Fantasias,” “El Amor Más Bonito” and “Tuyo.” Additionally, Daniela Darcourt, currently nominated for the Latin Grammy Award for Best Salsa Album, will perform, making it a musical night to remember. The show will also feature Kevin Ceballo and Rumberos del Callejon.

 

RAYMOND POZO & MIGUEL CÉSPEDES: THREE DECADES OF COMEDY

Saturday, Nov. 11 at 8 p.m.

Three decades after starting their comedy careers, Raymond Pozo and Miguel Céspedes will meet their New York City fans at Lehman Center for a night guaranteed to cure your boredom!

 

MARIACHI HERENCIA DE MÉXICO

Sunday, Nov. 12 at 4 p.m.

The energetic, virtuosic Latin GRAMMY-nominated group has issued chart-topping albums and performed across the North American continent — Nuestra Herencia, their 2017 debut album, topped the Latin streaming charts and in 2022, the group performed a wildly successful North American tour.

 

ARRIVAL FROM SWEDEN: TRIBUTE TO ABBA

Arrival From Sweden was founded in 1995 and very soon became one of the world’s most popular ABBA tribute shows. Since the start in 1995 the band has toured in more than 70 countries, done 82 successful U.S. tours and appeared in several TV and radio shows all over the world. Experience hits like: “Dancing Queen,” “Mamma Mia,” “Does Your Mother Know,” “Take A Chance” and “Super Trouper.”

 

SESIONES DESDE LA LOMA PA’ NEW YORK

“Sesiones Desde La Loma,” created by Norberto Vélez, former co-leader of the salsa orchestra NG2, started as video concerts at home, made from a small hill in Hatillo, Puerto Rico. Their first live performance was in Puerto Rico, where Vélez brought together several artists to the delight of thousands in attendance. Now, “Sesiones Desde La Loma,” featuring Moncho Rivera, José Alberto El Canario, Omar Santiago and the fabulous Vélez with his Orquesta, comes to New York City for the very first time in an exclusive event for Lehman Center!

 

THE BALLET OF “CINDERELLA”

The State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine returns to the United States to present their captivating two-act performance of “Cinderella.” They boast a hugely varied repertoire, carrying the honor of preserving the precious heritage of the great Ukrainian dances.

 

JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER: SING AND SWING

Featuring: Bria Skonberg, Benny Benack III, and special guest, Jimmy Bosch

Each armed with prodigious trumpet talent and vocal charm, Bria Skonberg and Benny Benack III will relive and reimagine classic duos like Judy Garland and Bing Crosby, Dean Martin and Peggy Lee, and more. Special guest Jimmy Bosch will also perform the soulful rhythms that made him a leading jazz and salsa trombonist. Featuring songs by Gershwin, Ellington, Cole Porter, and Irving Berlin, this is an unforgettable evening of singin’ and swingin’!

After successful international presentations, such as a presentation to a full house at the Gran Teatro del Cibao in the Dominican Republic, singer-songwriter Eddy Herrera will present his show “Agradecido” exclusively for Lehman Center. Accompanied by a fantastic merengue orchestra with special guest Wilfrido Vargas, Herrera will perform the hits that have made him one of the most outstanding merengue performers worldwide.

LA SONORA PONCEÑA 70TH ANNIVERSARY

La Sonora Ponceña, founded in 1954 by Enrique “Quique” Lucca Caraballo, have been praised for their consistency and superb contributions to salsa music and have many of the most talented musicians and singers in the world of salsa on their roster. Today, Quique’s son, Papo Lucca, leads the band. This March, they return to the Lehman Center stage for an unforgettable 70th anniversary celebration.

 

MASTERS OF THE 80’S
