I-95 North Monday Morning Accident

The NYPD and FDNY shut down the roadway to conduct their investigation into the early Monday morning accident.

The northbound Bruckner Expressway at Middletown Road was the scene of an Monday morning accident involving a compact car and a tractor trailer. According to witnesses, on Monday, August 8 around 7 a.m., the driver of a black Toyota Corolla, travelling on I-95 North was merging from the middle lane to the left lane. The driver then quickly returned to the center lane, but failed to see a tractor trailer had already occupied the lane and was caught underneath its trailer, the witness said.

The automobile driver reportedly sustained minor injuries from the accident. A tow truck removed the severely crushed vehicle from under the trailor. The FDNY and NYPD shut down the roadway for a time to conduct their investigation which resulted in heavy traffic delays for the morning commute.
