In honor of the 16th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the Hutchinson Metro Center unveiled the newly erected ‘Freedom is Not Free’ 9/11 memorial on Wednesday, September 13 adjacent to the parking lot of the Marriott Residence Inn hotel.
Surrounded by an open plaza, the monument consists of a large bronze eagle with a six-foot wingspan holding a steel beam recovered from the original World Trade Center.
