Sheila Haney, Throggs Neck Benevolent Association secretary, accepted a check for $500 from Ancient Order of Hibernians Bronx County Board president Bob Nolan at an AOH meeting held on Wednesday, May 18. The funds will be used to assist Bronx residents in paying for their expensive medical bills. Additional groups awarded $500 checks were the St. Lucy’s Food Pantry, Emerald Isle Immigration Center, Religious of Jesus and Mary-Haitian Relief. The Little Sisters of the Poor and the Sisters of Life each received $250 to fund their ministry.
