Diaz Raises Flag For Albanian Independence

Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul presented a proclamation from Governor Cuomo declaring the day an official celebration of Albania’s independence in NYS.

In honor of the 106th anniversary of Albania’s Independence, Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. hosted the borough’s official celebration of Albanian culture and heritage on Wednesday, November 28. The historic event co-sponsored by the Albanian-American Society Foundation, the Sons & Daughters of Albania in America and the Albanian Community Center featured the first-ever ceremonial raising of the Albanian flag at the Bronx County Building.
