In honor of Bronx Week, Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. hosted his time honored Centenarian Celebration honoring Bronxites who are 100-years-old or older on Thursday, May 11 at Villa Barone Manor.
Over 200 people were in attendance.
Some notable local centenarians included 100-year-old Beatrice Castiglia-Catullo, Regional Aid for Interim Needs founder; 101-year-old Sarah Turner, R.A.I.N. Eastchester Neighborhood Senior Center resident; 106-year-old Mattie ‘Sugar’ Davis, the luncheon’s oldest female centenarian and 107-year-old Joe Binder, the luncheon’s oldest male centenarian.
