It’s officially the holiday season in New York City! While your social media feeds may be filled with pictures and videos of Macy’s, Bryant Park and all the downtown staples of December celebrations, that does not mean there is nothing to do in the Bronx. The Holiday Train Show at the NYBG

Enter a winter wonderland at the New York Botanical Garden, where they have created a plant-based miniature replica of your favorite New York City landmarks. This holiday event is being held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Gardens until Jan. 20.

Bronx Zoo Holiday Lights Show

Celebrate the holiday season with the wildlife at the Bronx Zoo! They have six trails that are filled with lit-up animal and plant lanterns, immersive experiences, ice cravings and more.

Bronx Museum of the Arts Winter Family Day

Young kids will love the Bronx Museum of the Arts’ free winter family day, which will feature art activities, a story time and musical performances.

South Bronx SantaCon

SantaCon is not just in Manhattan — there is also one right here in The Bronx on Saturday, Dec. 13! The event will benefit The Willie and Aikisha Colon Foundation and the Oyate Group. If you donate $25, you will receive five free drinks. Sign up at bxsantacon.com.

The Nutcracker at The Lehman Center for the Performing Arts

Step into a dream world filled with Christmas magic, dancing candy and a rat slaying soldier doll right here in the Bronx! You do not need to travel all the way to Lincoln Center to see The Nutcracker, because The Westchester Ballet Company is performing a few shows at the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts.
