The YMCA Castle Hill branch managed to raise more than $20,000 for its programs and services during its Sunset Dinner Cruise fundraising event on Thursday, June 26.

Over 200 people gathered for this event. Multiple community members were also recognized for their efforts in supporting the YMCA, its members and its priorities. These honorees included Swannie Batista and Rachel Batista-McChain of Paralegals FTC, Our Saviour Lutheran School Mentor and Basketball Coach Peter Wehye Jr., Bally’s SVP of Corporate Development Christopher Jewett and Webster Bank Analyst of Regional Banking Shari Miller.

Batista and Batista-McChain received the Entrepreneur Excellence Award for their achievements in business and inspiring others. Batista’s work centers primarily on youth empowerment and advancing the representation of Latinas and women of color in law, while Batista-McChain applies her background in IT to develop resources for underserved communities.
Wehye was given the Inspiring Leadership Award for his community leadership and ability to uplift others. His leadership extends beyond the basketball court, as he gives his all to support student-athletes as they prepare to go to college and beyond.
Jewett was presented with the Corporate Partner Award in recognition of the valuable support and meaningful impact he has provided to the community.
Miller got the Community Partner Award for her dedication to creating a strong foundation in the community, as well as exemplifying the true power of purpose and partnership.
